M. Ayub, Jessore: On behalf of Jessore Municipality, Mayor Haider Gani Khan Palash has announced to provide humanitarian aid cards to four and a half thousand unemployed and helpless people in Karona. The distribution of these humanitarian aid cards has continued for several days. Mayor Haider Gani Khan Palash is distributing this humanitarian aid card among the poor every day. Most recently, he distributed cards to 400 people in Chanchra, Bakchar Hunshtala, Arabpur and Dharmatala areas of the municipality.

Ward 9 Awami League vice-president Ilias Hossain, Hafizur Rahman Batu, Parvez Sheikh, Juba League leader Jasim Uddin and others were present during the distribution of cards among rickshaw pullers, day laborers, tea shops, disabled and other working people at Bakchar Hunshtala.

Each card is given 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of potatoes and half a kg of pulses. The mayor`s actions have sparked positive discussions among working people. Helpless people in Corona have demanded that such activities be carried out on a larger scale.
