Press Release: The International Federation of Medical Students Association Bangladesh (IFMSA Bangladesh), one of the largest medical students’ voluntary organizations in Bangladesh, has recently organized an exceptional tree plantation programme on the occasion of International Youth Day on 12 August. Amidst the Covid pandemic, medical students from all over the country have participated in this programme, planting trees in and around their homes as part of their role towards nature as representatives of the younger generation.

Members of the IFMSA Bangladesh`s Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace (SCORP) and the Public Relations Support Division (PR) have gathered to organize the tree plantation programme. It is to be noted that IFMSA Bangladesh has always been working to develop the creative skills of the medical students of Bangladesh through various activities as well as enhancing their human qualities. Apurbo Aham, Secretary General of IFMSA Bangladesh said, “In the current context of the world, there is no alternative to plant trees for a healthy and secure future. International Youth Day is celebrated worldwide to highlight the role of youth in society and the world, and to send a beautiful message to society. As part of this, we believe that the spontaneous participation of medical students in this tree planting program organized by IFMSA Bangladesh will contribute to making them more empathetic towards the environment.”

It is to be noted that IFMSA Bangladesh is one of the leading organizations for developing extra-curricular skills and various creative skills of medical students in this country, and it has been working with a wide range of medical students since 2015 with a reputation.
