A piece of Jashorean in the chest of Barishal University

Farhana Yasmin: When a person leaves his homeland and goes elsewhere, even a bird in his own area becomes an absolute relative.  The definition of such a feeling may not be known by anyone other than a married woman.  When a woman leaves her father-in-law`s house after marriage, she is overwhelmed when she sees a stranger in her father`s area.  In the same way, a student crosses the boundaries of secondary and higher secondary education and leaves his or her hometown of Chirchena and Chirapan.  And that university gradually became his own.  And at some point the university became the second home to the city in which it is located.  In the same way, Barisal city is the second home for the students coming from Jessore studying in BarishalUniversity.  The newcomers from Jashore came to the university first and found the Jashore District Student Welfare Association.  Undoubtedly, it is a huge platform that creates harmony among the Jessoreans.

The journey of this Jashore District Student Welfare Association started in 2012 at the initiative of the senior students of BarishalUniversity with the aim of working with the facilities of the students.  At the beginning of the organization was deeply involved in the teacher of Botany dept.  Dr.  Subroto Kumar Das,  teacher of Sociology dept. Ashim Kumar Nandi and teacher of Management Studies dept. Suniti Debi Mondal.  Currently many more teachers are associated with this association.

A draft of the new committee of Jashore District Student Welfare Association was formed at Barishal University (BU) on the 29th and the final announcement of the committee was made the next day (October 30) night.  The committee was formed in a circular signed by former presidentChinmay Kumar Mondal (student of Mathematics department) and general secretary B M Nasir Hossain (student of Accounting and Information department). Md. Asad Reza Anik and Partho Ghose have become general secretaries.  In this regard, Md. Asad Reza Anik said, "From the beginning, there was a lot of passion and love for the association in his district.  I was a member of this association in my first year of university.  And in the last year, the most important responsibility has been given to me today.  We will fulfill this responsibility well with the help of everyone in the committee and we will stand by any cooperation of the students. `General Secretary Partho Ghose also said,` Our committee was first formed in 2012.  This time the ninth new committee was announced.  In fact, when I came to Barisal, I have adopted this organization.  And I have always worked from my place for the organization and I never slept in my room during the admission test for the safety of the examinees.  Now I am in an important position of the committee, I hope I will do a good job and make the committee effective.  I will try to bring more innovation in the organization with my younger brothers.  There was, is and will be love for the organization. `

After all, the organization arranges for students to stay, eat, and others each year during the admissions test, donate blood freely at the anytime and hosts a variety of cultural events, including a picnic to keep up solidarity with all. Mentioned last year at the time of  lockdown they helped a number of families from the association’s own funding.  The Jashore District Student Welfare Association is always ready for humanitarian and service work.
