2 acres of forest land freed in Cox`s Bazar

Abu Sayem, Cox’s Bazar: At the direction of Md. Anwar Hossain Sarkar, Divisional Forest Officer, Cox`s Bazar North Forest Division under the overall supervision of Assistant Forest Conservator Meherghona, under the leadership of Range Officer Md. Riaz Rahman, 2 acres of forest land has been freed and evicted. In this way, about 2 acres of land has been rescued from the hands of land grabbers. However, no one was arrested in this connection. On 18th January (Tuesday) from morning till noon in Mashuakhali Beat and Kalirchhara Shiapara area under MeherghonaRange under the leadership of Range Officer Md. Riaz Rahman conducted operation with the help of Beat Officers and staff. MeherghonaRange Officer Md. Riaz Rahman. He said there would be no place for land grabbers. We will crack down on those who are forcibly occupying the lands of the forest department. Two acres of land has been recovered from the forest department on the charge of illegally constructing raw houses and encroaching on the protected forest. Machhuyakhali bit officers, villagers and staff took part in the operation. Range officer Md Riaz Rahman said that legal action is being taken against those involved. Md. Anwar Hossain Sarkar, Divisional Forest Officer, Cox`s Bazar North Forest Department, said that the forest department is trying to recover the government forest land. If anyone builds a facility on government land, it will be evicted and I will play my due role in protecting the forest by conducting a campaign against the occupiers. The campaign will be carried out to bring the land under the law of forcible occupation and hill people. He called for cooperation with information to curb forest crime.
