Drug peddler held with 8 kgs of hemp in Rajshahi

Liakut Hossain Rajshahi: Members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) arrested a drug dealer with 8 kgs of cannabis in Rajshahi. The arrested accused is Md. Hossain (32). He is the son of Md. Milon Miah of Masikara village under Debidwar police station of Cumilla district.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Md. Arefin Jewel said that on January 26, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) Md. Abdullah Al Masud, Inspector of Police Md. Ashiq Iqbal, SI Md. Abdur Rahman and his team were conducting drug rescue and special operations duty in the metropolitan area.According to secret information, a white private car was carrying cannabis from Cumilla to Rajshahi via Baneshwar.

On the basis of the news, a team of DB police tried to chase the car as soon as the driver of the white private car reached the Talaimari junction in front of ShekharchakShahmakhdumCollege at 11:15 pm.

During interrogation of the arrested accused, said that four doors of his private car contained special cannabis. A search of the car later turned up a total of 8 kg of cannabis in 11 packets. The value of which is about Tk 4 lakh. Legal action has been taken against the arrested accused.
