  Date : 27-10-2024

MT Desk: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday said the "Logi Boitha" mayhem, launched by the Awami League (AL) on October 28, 2006, would remain as a chapter of stigma in the politics of Bangladesh.

"They (AL) started the politics of terrorism on October 28, 2006, and it continued till August 5, 2024. They had snatched the country`s democracy, rules of law, human rights, justice, freedom of speech, and rights of franchise," he said in a statement issued here today.

Shafiqur said specific cases were lodged to bring the killers of the mass killing which taken place on October 28, under book. But the then government had withdrawn the cases to protect the killers, he added.

He said the country was freed from fascism on August 5 after the mass upsurge of students and people.
"We believe that justice will be established after the changeover and trial of mass killers of October 28," he said.

The Jamaat Ameer sought doa from the countrymen for eternal peace of the departed souls, who were killing on October 28, 2006. He also conveyed deep sympathy to the injured and crippled people who are passing inhuman lives.
