Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been re-elected as the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the 2026–2028 term.
Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, assigned as chief election commissioner, announced this on Saturday night (November 1).
According to a press release, the voting was conducted by secret ballot among the party’s Rukon (members) across the country from October 9 to October 25. After completion of the process, the responsible teams counted the votes and on Saturday night, the Chief Election Commissioner officially announced the results.
As per the results, Shafiqur Rahman was elected, securing highest number of votes.
