BSS) - A three-member US delegation, led by US Ambassador in Dhaka Brent T Christensen, today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister`s Defense Adviser Brigadier General (retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam.

The meeting was held in the Defense Adviser’s office at Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment, an ISPR press release said here.

During the meeting, they discussed about the excellent bilateral relations exist between Bangladesh and the United States and various issues related to mutual interest.

They also discussed in detail the issues of enhancing mutual cooperation at the military level, exchange of experiences and expansion of training activities between the two countries.

The Defense Adviser recalled the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and the United States, and expressed that this cooperation in the defense sector will further accelerate in the coming days.

During the meeting, the US Ambassador highly appreciated the professionalism of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and their contribution to UN peacekeeping missions.

It is expected that this meeting would further strengthen and expand the defense cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States and the friendly relations between the two countries in future.
