Press Release: Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukunda Naravan visited the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training at Rajendrapur Cantonment on Monday afternoon as part of the multinational military exercise "Leading the Peace" organized by the Bangladesh Army; Deputy Chief of Operations - Bhutan Army Brigadier General Darji Rinchen; High-ranking domestic / foreign officials, including the Force Commanders of the United Nations Multi-Dimensional Integrated Mission in Central Africa (MINUSA), the Multi-Dimensional Integrated Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.
The visiting guests observed various training activities of BIPSOT and exchanged views with the Commandant of the organization on the training of Bangladeshi peacekeepers. It is to be noted that BIPSOT is an international standard training institute of Bangladesh Army and Armed Forces where UN peacekeepers from different countries specialize in peacekeeping operations, peace and security.
Major General Abdul Qayyum Mollah, Commandant of BIPSOT, NDC, PSC welcomed all the guests. In addition to presenting BIPSOT`s important training activities as one of the topics of the visit, a realistic mandate of the current peacekeeping activities - a practical exercise on "Protection of Civilian" in the light of adverse conditions.
During the visit, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC) of Bangladesh Lt. Gen. SM Matiur Rahman, OSP, SUP, AFWC, PSC and directors of various departments of the Army were also present. The visiting foreign guests highly appreciated the quality and training facilities of BIPSOT and the great contribution of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in world peacekeeping.
