The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is interrogating three more officials of the Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD) as part of an investigation over ‘irregularities and corruption’ in purchasing substandard N95 masks and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The anti-graft body, led by its Director Mir Md Zainul Abedin Shibli, is interrogating the three officials at the commission’s headquarters in the capital. The three officials are senior store keeper Md Yusuf Fakir, deputy director Dr Md Zakir Hossain and former medical officer (chief co-coordinator) Dr Ziaul Haque.
Earlier, the Commission on Sunday interrogated three others CMSD officials over the same charges. They were assistant director (admin) Dr Md Shahjahan, store in-charge Dr Sabbir Ahmed and store officer Kabir Ahmed. ACC Director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee confirmed the matte.
On July 12, the commission summoned the six CMSD officials to appear in the commission’s headquarters on the scheduled dates to give their statements over the allegations.
