Three of a family among 4 killed in Tangail road crash

Online Desk : Four people, including three members of a family, were killed as a bus rammed a batter-run van in Madhupur upazila of Tangail on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Mainuddin, 50, a resident of Paika village in Dhanbari upazila, his wife Sahera Begum, 30, their son Siam, 3, and van driver Farhad, 45, a resident of the same village.

Locals said a bus of `Binimoy Paribahan` hit a battery-run auto-van in Ganggair Bus Stand area, leaving three dead on the spot and another injured.

Later, the injured was rushed to Madhupur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared the child dead.

Madhupur fire station officer Hemaul Kabir said a bus of Dhaka-bound `Binimoy Paribahan` hit a battery-run van, leaving three dead on the spot and a child seriously injured.

Later, the child died in hospital, he said.

Assistant police superintendent (Madhupur Circle) Farhana Afroz Jemmy confirmed the incident.
