79 institutions fined for selling products at higher prices

Online Report : The Directorate of National Consumers` Rights Protection (DNCRP) on Saturday fined Tk 3,90,000 to 79 institutions across the country for selling essential commodities including potatoes, onions, and eggs at higher prices.

A total of 45 teams from the directorate conducted raids at 55 markets and imposed a fine, a DNCRP press release said on Sunday night.

It said they conducted operations across the country in order to keep the supply and price of essential commodities including potatoes, onions, and eggs stable.

The activities of the directorate will be continued further to protect the consumers` rights, it added.
