Saudi expat killed in Chandpur road accident

Online Report : A Saudi expatriate was killed and two others were injured when a microbus collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Matlab Uttar upazila of Chandpur district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased Nurul Islam, son of late Sahid Ullah Pradhan, was a resident of Fatehpur West Union of the upazila.

The accident occurred when a Chandpur bound CNG autorickshaw collided head-on with the microbus, leaving expat Nurul Islam dead on the spot and two others injured, said Mohammad Shahid Hossain, officer-in-Charge (OC) of Matlab Uttar Police Station.

Injured Mofizul Islam, 30, and Md. Ali Akbar, 55, were taken to Chandpur Government General Hospital.


Police seized the microbus from the spot but its driver managed to flee, added the OC.
