Garment workers continue protest in Gazipur for 2nd day

Online Report : Readymade garment employees are demonstrating in Gazipur`s Konabari for the second consecutive day on Tuesday demanding due salaries and Eid bonus.

Around 8,000 employees of Keya Knit Composite Ltd took to the street, blocking Kashimpur regional road.

The protesting workers alleged that the owners did not pay their February month`s dues and Eid bonus.

They said that they will continue the protest until they get due salaries and bonus.

Members of Gazipur Industrial Police and Konabari police are trying to control the situation.


On Monday afternoon, though the authorities paid Eid bonus of only Keya Spinning Mill workers, they continued their work abstention.

After ifter, employees of the spinning mill and Keya Knit Composite Ltd sit-in on Konabari Kashimpur regional road and staged demonstration till 11pm.

Earlier, the workers of the Keya Knit Composite Ltd on Monday started the protest for their dues and Eid bonus.
