UP member shot, slaughtered in Narsingdi

Online Desk : A local Union Parishad (UP) member was slaughtered reportedly by miscreants in broad-daylight at Sadar upazila of Narsingdi on Monday afternoon.

The killing took place around 1.45pm at Pakuria Bazaar area under Amdia union of the upazila.

Quoting locals, police said the victim Rubel Ahmmed alias Body Rubel, who was member of Ward No-8 under Amdia UP, went to Pakuria Bazaar in the afternoon. Later, when he was returning home, a group of miscreants fired six rounds of bullets on him and then, slaughtered him to confirm his death.

Meanwhile, Detective Branch of Police (DB) assumed that the killing might have took place over a previous enmity.


Madhabdi Police Station sub-inspector Fazle Rabbi confirmed the matter and added that on information, police recovered the body from the spot and sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Investigation is on in this regard to find out the motive of the killing and legal action will be taken later, added the OC.
