Order to mix the seized sand in the natural environment
  Date : 21-05-2024

Our correspondent: The court has ordered that the seized sand of Harbang Maujar Madhukhali, reserve of Taitong bit under Barbakia range under Chittagong South Forest Division, should be returned to the natural environment.

Last year on May 5, 2023, Forest Department seized the sands and filed a departmental case under U, D, O, R` No. 17 / TOI of 2022-23 by Toitong Bit.

A few days ago, when the upazila administration took the initiative to auction the seized sand, the Range Officer, Barbakia Range applied to the learned Senior Judicial Magistrate Court, Chakria, Cox`s Bazar on 31/03/2024 to match the sand with the natural environment.

In view of the application of the learned court, the court ordered the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Pekua to measure the sands and submit the report. But as the Upazila Nirbahi Officer did not submit the report on time and did not ask for time, the range officer, in continuation of the application of Barbakia Range, issued memorandum No. 1677(3)/(3)/24 Date-02/05/2024 A.D. Ordered to match the sands with nature.

In view of this order, on Wednesday 8th May from 6 am to 12 pm, under the direction of Divisional Forest Officer of Chittagong South Forest Division, under the leadership of Assistant Forest Conservator Md. Delwar Hossain, the first phase of the operation was carried out and partial sand was mixed with the natural environment.
During this time, more than one hundred officials and employees of Chittagong South Forest Division, including city range, Barbakia, Patia, Mardasha, Padua, Chunti range officers of Chittagong South Forest Division participated in the campaign, and about one and a half hundred members of Sufal Project of Barbakia Range cooperated.
