Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the government doesn`t feel embarrassed over former Army chief General Aziz Ahmed and former Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed issues.
He said, "The government doesn`t feel embarrassed over Aziz-Benazir issues because it did not give them a chance to be spared by refusing their crimes. The head of the government (Sheikh Hasina) is uncompromising about corruption."
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this in a press conference at Awami League President`s Dhanmondi office in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday.
Mentioning no criminal will be spared in the tenure of Sheikh Hasina-led government, he said, "The Anti-Corruption Commission can investigate against former Army chief Aziz Ahmed if he is criminal. Any person, whoever he is, must face punishment if he commits any offense."
