Processing to take Khaleda Zia abroad underrway
  Date : 17-09-2024

Bangladesh Nationalist Party has started its processing to take party Chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad for advanced medical treatment.

But as she is not physically fit enough to travel for a long time by plane, the party leader decided to take her by an air ambulance. They are trying to arrange the air ambulance from Qatar.

Dr AZM Zahid, a personal physician of Khaleda, said, "We are consulting with some hospitals in the United States and the United Kingdom. It will take eight to thirteen hours to reach the UK, while 18 to 21 hours to reach the United States. She needs some complicated treatments, including liver transplant, there. And for this, Khaleda Zia have to stay abroad for many days."

The date will be finalised after Khaleda Zia feels better a little bit, said her medical board member Dr Al Mamun.

"Our main aim to transplant liver. Before that, Khaleda Zia will have to need a thorough checkup. The liver transplant decision will depend after observing her physical condition," Dr Al Mamun added.
