  Date : 14-09-2024

The well-marked low over southeastern part of Bangladesh and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression, then land deep depression over Jashore and adjoining area at 9AM on Saturday.

It is likely to move northwestwards further, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast in a special weather bulletin on Saturday (September 14).

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country, said a regular bulletin of Met office.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No 3.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to take shelter and remain in shelter till further notice.
