Dengue claims 11 lives in 24 hours

Eleven dengue patients died and 1,079 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till this morning.

During the period, 315 engue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city, while 764 were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

This year, the total number of cases rose to 86,791 while 459 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the statement added.

In the past 24 hours, 1,230 dengue patients were discharged from different hospitals. Among the total cases, 82,612 patients have already been released, the DGHS statement added.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
