The government has called for opinions from political parties, including those involved in the mass uprising, and other stakeholders regarding the drafting of the July Declaration. This call was made following an all-party meeting on Thursday, January 16, as part of the next steps.
Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, provided this information. He stated that opinions can be submitted to the Office of the Chief Advisor, addressed to Advisor Mahfuz Alam, until January 23. Political parties and all stakeholders are invited to submit their considered views in writing.
These opinions will be reviewed, and a revised, widely accepted declaration will be prepared. The declaration will be publicly announced soon, with the presence of the people, he added.
Earlier, on December 31, the anti-discrimination student movement had planned to announce the July Declaration. However, the students refrained from doing so following the government`s assurance that it would announce it soon.
