Abrar murder: Death references, appeals` verdict on Sunday

The High Court will deliver its judgement on the death references and appeals in of BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case.

The death references and appeals were in the cause list of the HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain for the verdict.

On February 24, the hearing of the appeals and death references were ended.

In October 7, 2019, Abrar, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), was beaten to death by Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university.

Later, his father Barkat Ullah filed a murder case with the Chawkbazar Police Station accusing 19 people.

A Dhaka court on December 8, 2021, sentenced 20 BUET students to death for their direct involvement in the murder.
