  Date : 09-05-2025

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain, thunder showers, and lightning flashes with gusty winds in parts of three divisions over the next 24 hours, starting from this morning.

According to the BMD`s forecast, light rain or thunderstorms with lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at one or two locations in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

The weather pattern is influenced by a low-pressure trough over West Bengal and surrounding areas, while a seasonal low persists over the South Bay.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly during the day and dip slightly at night. On Saturday, Rangamati recorded the highest temperature of 36.0°C, while the minimum temperature today was 16.5°C at Dimla in Nilphamari district.

The highest rainfall over the past 24 hours, recorded until 6 am today, was 17 mm at Tetulia.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:11 PM today and rise at 5:59 AM tomorrow.
