  Date : 10-05-2025

(BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed a case against Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, daughter of Sheikh Rehana and niece of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and two others for grabbing a flat at a project of Eastern Housing Limited in city’s Gulshan area.

The two other accused of the case are former assistant legal advisers of Rajdhani Unnayan Katripokkha (Rajuk) Shah Md Khasruzzaman and Sardar Mosharaf Hossain.

ACC Director General-(Prevention) Md Akhter Hossain disclosed the information at a media briefing at its headquarters in city’s Segunbagicha area. Deputy Director of the anti-graft body Monirul Islam filed the case with its Dhaka Integrated district office.

The ACC DG told the reporters that the accused persons in connivance with each other illegally grabbed a flat from the Eastern Housing Limited in Gulshan-2 without paying any money through conspiracy and criminal misconducts and misusing power.

The ACC brought charges against the accused under sections 120/b, 409/161/162/163/164/165(Ka) and 109 of Bangladesh Penal Code and section 5(2) of the Corruption Prevention Act-1947.

Earlier, on March 10, the ACC submitted charge sheets in eight separate cases against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and their family members, former state minister Sharif Ahmed, former private secretary to the prime minister Salah Uddin and 14 officials of the Rajuk. The court has accepted the charge sheets by this time and issued arrest warrants against the accused.
