Exports surge to $40.2 bn in 10 months, up 10% y-on-y

Bangladesh`s export earnings climbed to $40.2 billion in the first ten months of the 2024–25 fiscal year, marking a near 10% increase from the same period a year earlier, according to the latest data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

Between July and April of the previous fiscal, the country had earned $36.61 billion from merchandise exports.

April 2025 alone saw export receipts of $3.01 billion, a slight rise of 0.86% compared to April 2024, when the figure stood at $2.99 billion.

The Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector continued to dominate the export landscape, generating $32.64 billion during the ten-month period—up 10% from the previous year.

In April, RMG exports totaled $2.40 billion, a modest month-on-month increase from $2.38 billion in April 2024, showing a 0.44% uptick.
