Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that the United States is “already helping a lot” in his country’s ongoing conflict with Iran.

He made the remarks during a visit to the Soroka Medical Center in the city of Beer Sheva, which was damaged in Iranian strikes.

“They’re participating in the protection of the skies over Israel and its cities,” Netanyahu told CNN in a briefing with a group of reporters. “I think it’s a remarkable cooperation.”

The prime minister was also asked whether Israel is aiming to bring down the Iranian regime. “That may be the result,” he replied. “But it’s up to the Iranian people to rise for their freedom. Freedom is never cheap.”

“We may create conditions that help them do it,” he added.
