Tourism is the movement of people from their normal place of residence to another place for a minimum period of one day or a maximum of six months for leisure and pleasure. They might spend their leisure time engaging in various sports, sunbathing, talking, singing, taking rides, touring, reading, or simply enjoying the environment. The tourist seeks various kinds of physical experiences and satisfactions. Besides, the business people see tourism as an opportunity to make a profit by supplying the goods and services that the tourist market demands. Bangladesh is blessed with full of heaven of natural beauty. Tourism is a very promising developing sector in Bangladesh. It’s growing rapidly. It’s related to all sectors. A huge income source can make by it. The tourism sector can remove our unemployment problems.

Tourism is one of the most growing industries all around the world. Bangladesh is blessed with unparalleled divine beauty. We can see a huge employment opportunity in the tourism sector. Every single sector is related to the tourism industry. Food, transportation, hotel, motel, resorts, accommodation, travel agencies, festivals, and events, sports, etc are also related to the tourism industry. Tourism generates 12% of the global gross national product and it employs around 200 million people worldwide. Tourist arrivals are estimated to reach 1billion by 2010 and 106 billion by 2020 worldwide. As it evolves, tourist arrival is encouraging an atmosphere of growing confidence for investment in the travel and tourism sector in Bangladesh. When we see a great probability of its coronavirus make them stop.  All sectors are stopped for this virus. Every country is plagued by the global epidemic Coronavirus. The procession of death does not stop. It’s growing rapidly and continuously. How long is the lockdown? People are going out to work to eat twice a day. Billions of people are suffering from an unemployment problem. Millions of people have lost their jobs. It is as if new employment is being created in the pursuit of livelihood day by day. Garments, factories, vehicles, small and medium enterprises, small and medium enterprises where the stagnation is the biggest loss seems to be in the travel and tourism industry. Bangladesh is one of the immense potentials in the world tourism industry. The natural diversity of this country is unique and unique from other countries of the world. Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty. The travel and tourism industry has suffered the most due to Covid-19, where every sector is involved. From vehicles to food. Maintaining social distance, the tourism industry seems to be in a dilemma to deal with Covid-19. The trend of economic development has come to a halt in tourist destinations as it was not a few days ago. There was no system of income for the people. Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Hotels, Motels, Resorts, Guest Houses, Restaurants, Airlines, Tourist Coaches, Tourist Ship Agencies, Tourist Guiding Agencies, Street Food, Community-Based Tourism. Today they are suffering from unemployment. The livelihood of 15 million people depends on the travel and tourism industry. Bangladesh has a huge opportunity to build up its tourism sector. Few Foreigners are known about Bangladesh has a natural beauty but not to well known as a tourist destination. Only 6 lacks foreign tourists came to Bangladesh in 2019. Not more than 70%  came for business and official purposes. We need to concentrate more on the tourism sector if we want to earn more foreign currencies and attract foreign tourists. That’s why every tourist spot should be evaluated properly and every tourist spot should get the same preferences. We can build our tourism sector  by developing infrastructural structure and building awareness, transportation, food services, hotel management and also we can show our natural beauty by youtube and also social media so that tourist can see every spot clearly and attract smoothly,

The global epidemic will reduce 50 million jobs, according to the WTTC report. Due to the closure of the tourism industry. It is expected that Asian countries will suffer the most. UNWTO estimates that the number of international tourists will drop from 20 percent to 30 percent by 2020. The damage will range from  300 billion to  450 billion.

Bangladesh has attracted the minds of tourists for a long time. Travel satisfies thirsty minds. Eliminates mental exhaustion. During leisure time, people rush to enjoy the beautiful environment away from the traffic jams of the city. For example, Sajek Valley, Bandarban, Cox`s Bazar, Kuakata, Sylhet, St. Martin`s, Sundarbans, etc tourists come and go all year round. But due to the coronavirus, there is no influx of tourists. The people there have become financially indigent. Suffering from unemployment. According to the report of the ‘Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh’ (TOAB), the amount of loss in Bangladesh has been shown as 5700 crores Tk.  . According to the Bangladesh chapter of the ‘’Pacific Asia Travel Association’’ (PATA), there will be a turn over tk 9,605crores  from January to June.

Where the country is struggling to cope with the coronavirus, there is a terrible cyclone like Amphan. Natural calamities like cyclone, tornado, over rain,  swarm spore, also seem to have more damage to the travel and tourism industry. The floods have caused new problems. The amount of damage does not seem to stop. Recent tourist spots have been opened. But how ready are we?

There is no alternative to the tourism industry to keep the country`s economy active. . From small to large sectors will become active. People`s income-earning system will be created. The coronavirus epidemic has caused a loss of Tk 5,600 crore in the country`s tourism sector. Besides, 4 million people involved in this sector have become unemployed. At least one and a half crore people who depend on them have gone through difficult times. All kinds of traders, big and small, have been affected. To attract foreign tourists, we have to ensure their safety. There are many incidents of snatching, stealing, robbery, and even murder in the tourist area. Which became a dark chapter in the memory. Those who are thirsty for travel won’t come again to our country for passing their leisure and pleasure. Besides, considering the current situation, visa requirements for tourists need to be eliminated. A few days ago, there are fewer people in the tourist area for the pandemic situation. Tourists need to ensure 100% protection. Owned companies should not reduce the number of employees, they should reduce the amount of loss by reducing the working hours in the workplace.

This year the main theme of the tourism industry is “Tourism and Rural Development.” We need to emphasize rural culture. The tradition and culture of the place should be presented to the people. This will provide employment opportunities to the people there. Many will be freed from the curse of unemployment. The government or the concerned officials have to come forward to recover from the loss. Low-profit loans should be arranged in all sectors. All hygiene rules should be followed by brave. Mask wear should be made mandatory. If you do not follow the hygiene rules, you have to take strict action. Above all, we need to focus on the travel and tourism industry to bring back financial prosperity, to keep the wheel of the economy moving to our country so that everyone can live a beautiful life.
