Messi`s Miami Secures Last 16 After Dramatic Draw

Lionel Messi`s Inter Miami secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Brazilian club Palmeiras in a thrilling match, clinching their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16.

Spectators at Hard Rock Stadium witnessed a captivating encounter on Tuesday (June 24) morning, Bangladesh time, as Inter Miami faced Brazilian giants Palmeiras in their Group A fixture. Despite taking a two-goal lead, Miami were forced to settle for a draw in a dramatic finish.

Despite the draw, David Beckham`s club secured their Round of 16 berth. While they couldn`t top the group, they advanced as runners-up. Palmeiras, by virtue of the draw with Miami, also booked their spot in the last 16 as group champions.

Palmeiras dominated possession throughout the match but conceded a goal in the first half. In the 16th minute, Miami capitalized on an opposing corner, with Luis Suárez assisting Tadeo Allende for an easy goal that put Miami ahead. Miami went into halftime with a one-goal lead.

Miami extended their lead in the second half, with Suárez finding the net in the 65th minute. However, few would have predicted that Miami would draw the match. Palmeiras mounted a comeback between the 80th and 87th minutes. Paulinho scored for Palmeiras in the 80th minute, and seven minutes later, Maurício equalized for the Brazilian club. The 2-2 draw saw both teams secure their places in the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, in the group`s other match, Portuguese club FC Porto drew 4-4 with Egyptian club Al Ahly, with both teams now confirmed to be out of the Club World Cup.
