  Gold prices rise, bhori Tk 1.71 lakh

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has raised the prices of gold, with 22 carat gold up by Tk 1,050 to Tk 1,71,601 per bhori (11.664 grams).

Besides, 21-carat gold was increased by Tk 1,004 to Tk 1,63,798 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 852 to Tk 1,40,400, and gold of traditional method by Tk 735 to Tk 1,16,127 respectively.

The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Tuesday, July 22.

The new prices will come into effect from Wednesday, July 23.

Earlier on July 8, the price of 22-carat gold declined by Tk 1,575 to Tk 1,70,551 per bhori, while 21-carat gold decreased by Tk 1,505 to Tk 1,62,794 per bhori.

Similarly, 18-carat gold went down by Tk 1,283 to Tk 1,39,548 per bhori, and traditional gold decreased by Tk 1,096 to Tk 1,15,392 per bhori.
