BNP Holds Human Chain and Protest Rally in Daulatpur, Manikganj

Kamrul Hasan : A human chain and protest rally were held at Kallyanpur Bazar in Daulatpur Upazila, Manikganj, to denounce the publication of false, fabricated, and baseless news on social media (Facebook) and other media outlets targeting Upazila BNP General Secretary Anisur Rahman Anis with the intent to politically and socially defame him.

The event was organized on Thursday afternoon by the Bachamara Union BNP, its affiliated organizations, and local residents.

The rally was presided over by Union BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Shafik. Among those present were former District BNP Training Secretary Ferdousur Rahman, former UP member Tojammel Hossain, Md. Nazir Matbor, Zainal Bepari, Imdadul Haque, Daulatpur Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Habibullah Nomani, Baghutia Union BNP General Secretary Tota Sheikh, Upazila Jubo Dal Joint Convener Uzzal Hossain Babu, Union Jubo Dal General Secretary Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Union Chhatra Dal President Faruk Hossain, other BNP and affiliated leaders, and prominent local figures.

Addressing the gathering, speakers stated that false and fabricated news has been circulated to politically defame Anisur Rahman Anis, former Vice-President of the District Jubo Dal and current General Secretary of Daulatpur Upazila BNP. They strongly condemned the incident and demanded legal action against those responsible.

Speakers alleged that, under the instigation of Kallyanpur High School Headmaster Alamgir Hossain and Managing Committee President Roknuzzaman Rokon, some local individuals attempted to seize government land and construct shops. When locals resisted, the incident was exploited to spread false news against Anisur Rahman Anis, which is completely baseless and deliberate.

They further described Anisur Rahman as a humane, philanthropic, and popular leader. Despite winning the Union Parishad chairman post by a landslide in a previous election, he was denied the position due to political conspiracy. Speakers criticized those who previously colluded with the ruling party for personal gain, stating that they are now behind the defamation campaign.

The rally also highlighted the importance of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point program for state reform, which aims to protect independence, the constitution, and democracy, as well as ensure the country’s reconstruction and national progress. According to the speakers, Tarique Rahman’s foresight and leadership have helped the nation remain free from fascism.

Speakers added that the current caretaker government has announced a roadmap for the national elections scheduled for February 2026. However, supporters of fascism are attempting to sabotage the elections by spreading false rumors and propaganda. Citizens are urged to remain united to prevent such conspiracies.

At the conclusion of the rally, the speakers appealed to the caretaker government to investigate the false allegations against Anisur Rahman Anis and take necessary action. They also demanded strict punishment for those spreading defamatory news.
