Kashmiris reel under brutal repression of RSS-backed Modi regime

Online Desk: The oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to suffer immensely under the violent military occupation and repressive cordon and search operations conducted by Indian troops, police, and intelligence agencies across the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian forces have been carrying out massive house raids, detentions, and property attachments in both the Kashmir Valley and the Jammu region, subjecting residents to intense harassment and psychological trauma. Locals from several areas reported that troops forcibly enter homes, terrorize inmates, and vandalize household goods, turning daily life into a nightmare.
The residents lamented that these operations—conducted under draconian laws such as the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Public Safety Act—are aimed at intimidating the local population and suppressing their legitimate demand for freedom.
Civil society members, in a joint statement in Srinagar, reaffirmed that the people of Kashmir would never compromise on their inalienable right to self-determination. They urged the United Nations and the international community to hold India accountable for its crimes and to implement the UN Security Council resolutions guaranteeing the right to decide Kashmir’s political future.
The statement further condemned the Hindutva-driven BJP regime, saying that India under Narendra Modi and the RSS has emerged as the biggest spoiler of peace in South Asia. It warned that New Delhi’s hegemonic and militaristic policies not only fuel unrest in IIOJK but also pose a grave threat to regional stability and international peace.
Since August 5, 2019, they added, Kashmiris’ lives have been turned into a living hell under the RSS-backed Modi regime. Killings, torture, abductions, and molestations have become the grim norm in IIOJK, transforming it into the world’s largest open-air prison. Over 96,000 Kashmiris have been martyred since 1989, yet the world remains a silent spectator. The civil society members urged international community to recognize that Kashmir is not India’s internal matter but an international dispute — and raise the slogan loud and clear: Kashmiri Lives Also Matter.
