INTERNATIONAL, October 4: Chinese embassies in various countries have recently organized National Day receptions and a range of other events to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Government officials, political figures, representatives from various sectors and distinguished guests attended the events.

More than 1,000 guests from various sectors of Russian society attended a National Day reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Russia. During the event, they spoke highly of China’s development achievements and the strong friendship and cooperation between Russia and China.

Melnikov, First Deputy Speaker of Russia’s State Duma, said that in May this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to further extend the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation between China and Russia. He expressed hope that the friendship between the peoples of the two countries would continue to flourish for generations to come.

Zhenisov, First Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of Russia’s Federation Council, said that under the leadership of the two countries’ heads of state, Russia-China relations had continued to advance steadily. He added that Russia was ready to work hand in hand with its Chinese friends to move toward a brighter future.

Speaking at a National Day reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping and the people of China. He said that under Xi Jinping’s leadership, China had achieved remarkable development, inspiring countries around the world. Sharif emphasized that Pakistan would continue to work hand in hand with China to build a closer Pakistan-China community with a shared future in the new era.

At a reception organized by the Chinese Embassy in Laos, representatives from various sectors of Lao society praised China’s development achievements. Vilay Lakhamphong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and Standing Secretary of the Party’s Central Secretariat, said that through Belt and Road cooperation, Laos had been progressing toward transforming itself from a landlocked country into a land-linked nation. He also praised China’s recent advances in various fields, including artificial intelligence and robotics.

At the National Day reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, guests enjoyed special promotional videos highlighting China-South Africa relations, along with cultural performances. Former South African President Kgalema Motlanthe congratulated the Chinese government and people, saying that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the country had achieved high-quality development. He remarked that China’s development experience offered valuable lessons for South Africa and other developing countries.

In addition, Chinese embassies in various other countries, including Vietnam, Ireland, Canada, Togo and Chile, organized receptions and other events to celebrate China’s National Day.
