This being highly environment-friendly materials, its uses have created a great enthusiasm among the buyers, especially who are conscious about the vulnerable atmosphere and serious pollution all over the world.

It is also learnt that different commodities which are made from fish scales are durable and easy to use for the utilizes.

This woman entrepreneur, Aya Lurki, firmly believes, if we can increase the acceptability and popularity of this new environment-friendly discovery, it is possible for us to control the killing of the wild animals and thereby, we can save our jeopardous environment all over the world.

Now various kinds of articles like luxurious bags, watch straps, shoes, etc. are found in the markets, which are made from the skins of different animals. But by breaking this tradition this Moroccan entrepreneur has become successful in making these essential articles from the skins of different fishes. These commodities made from fish skins are available for us at cheap rates, and at the same time, we can protect our environment by using these articles, this woman entrepreneur thinks.

Lurki, who is only 23 years old is the first woman of Morocco, has made various useful articles from fish skins and gained great popularity people. Different types of and designs of bags, money bags, key rings and wrist watch satraps are made in her factory. These being made of fish skins are one hundred per cent environ-friendly.

Aya said, “When I saw various reptiles and other wild animals are being killed indiscriminately to obtain skins, I hit upon a plan to find out something alternative to animal skin. Then I started different experiments and found that the skin of reptiles and the scales of fishes bear the same characteristics. Therefrom, I started working on fish scales”.

Lurki usually uses the scales of salmon fish in producing these articles but uses the skins of other fishes like shoal and trout fish also go on in her factory.  At first, she collected fish scales from hotel and restaurants but, as the production and activities of her factory have increased, she is now collecting the same from the fishermen and fish traders.

Firstly, they collect fish scales from different sources and then start to process these scales. It takes them five days to make the scales usable for making various commodities. The chief characteristics of the articles made from the fish scales are, these are flexible, smooth and durable.

Lurky’s productions are new and better in quality, so their demand and popularity have increased within a very short time.

A buyer named Tamara said, “I like these useful articles very much, because, these are extremely durable and comfortable to use. Moreover, these are production of a woman entrepreneur, which is really great”.

Lurki produces as many as 400 articles every month, which are sold in local markets of Morocco and alongside these are sold online.

This praise-worthy entrepreneur who is a Moroccan young woman of only 23 believes, if we increase the uses of the fish-scales made articles, we will be able to save wild animals. Wild animals are essential for ecological balance. If we keep on killing wild animals, the whole world will be endangered, and in the meantime, the earth has started experiencing devastating effects of global warming resulting from global pollution and ecological imbalances.
