A forum titled ‘Journalist Forum for Promoting Tourism (JFPT)’ has been formed with Abul Khair, Special Cortrespondent of bengali daily Ittefaq and Shahin Alam, senior reporter of the daily Sangbad Pratidin as president and secretary respectively at a hotel in the city on Saturday.

Mohammad Jahangir Alam (UNB) and Kabir Ahmed Khan (BSS) made vice presidents of the executive committee of JFPT.

Sharif Mujib (Voice of America) has been selected as Joint Secretary while M Umar faroque was made organizing secretary of the committee. Other bearer of the JFPT are: Abu Hossain Akhter Hossain (citizen times) as Finance secretary, office secretary Baten Biplab (Asian TV), International Affairs Secretary MM Badsha (Bangla TV), publicity Secretary Atiqur Rahman, Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary Kazi Shahidul Alam (Ajkaler Khabar) and Social Welfare Secretary Jilani Miltan (Noya Diganta). The nine executive members of the committee are: SM Abul Hossain (The News Times), Dipu Sarwar (Ekushe Tv), Alauddin Arif (Desh Rupantar), Asaduzzaman Biku (Purbanchal), Deepak Kumar Acharjee (The Independent), Nurul Islam Hasib (The Bangladesh Post), Nadiya Sharmin (Ekattar Tv), Antara Biswas (News 24 Tv) and Rabbi Ebne Siddiqui (Jamuna Tv).
