The district unit AL in an urgent meeting on Tuesday decided to recommend relieving Dr Murad of post as its the health and population affairs secretary.

The unit president advocate Mohammad Baki Billah confirmed this to News.

The party sources said Dr Murad`s different controversial remarks have appeared as a violation of the party discipline. That is why he was relieved of all the party responsibilities.

Earlier today, he sent his resignation letter to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting showing personal reasons.

The resignation came a day after the Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the Prime Minister had ordered him to step down from the Cabinet by today.

State Minister Dr Minister has recently made disrespectful comments about BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Acting Chairperson Tareque Rahman, and his daughter Zaima Rahman in an interview.
