Kamrul Hasan : Afroza Khanam Rita, Member of the Advisory Council to the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Convenor of Manikganj District BNP, and Chairperson of Munnu Group of Industries, said,
“Under the farsighted leadership of Deshnayak Tarique Rahman, the era of autocracy has come to an end. To sustain this achievement, ensuring the victory of the sheaf of paddy (BNP’s electoral symbol) is now the demand of the time. By implementing the 31-point reform agenda for safeguarding the nation’s independence, constitution, and democracy, we can build a just state. Therefore, in the upcoming election, we must not arrive at any wrong decision—because one wrong decision could push the nation toward disaster.”
She made these remarks on Monday evening while speaking as the chief guest at a reception and guardians’ gathering organized in honor of meritorious student Setu Dewan at Atigram Akul Chandra High School in Manikganj.
The event was presided over by Shah Saidul Islam, President of the School Managing Committee, and conducted by Head Teacher Md. Shafiqul Islam. Numerous leaders and activists from the district and central BNP, along with teachers, guardians, and local residents, were present.
Among others present were Advocate Aminul Haque, former Vice-President of the JASAS Central Committee, former member of the District BNP Advisory Council, and BNP nomination aspirant for Manikganj-1 constituency; Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Joint Convenor of Dhaka South City BNP Krishak Dal and Central Joint Secretary of Zia Cyber Force; Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Habu, Member of the District BNP Convening Committee; District Jubo Dal Member Secretary Tuhinur Rahman Tuhin; District Swechchhasebak Dal Convenor Advocate Jinnah Khan; District Chhatra Dal President Abdul Khalek Shuvo and General Secretary Sirajur Rahman Khan Sajib, among others.
Afroza Khanam Rita said,
“Protecting the sovereignty of the country, establishing the fundamental rights of the people, and strengthening the organization under the guidance of Tarique Rahman are the core goals of the BNP. The commitment to restructure the state will only be achieved through the full implementation of the 31-point program.”
She further added,
“As part of fulfilling the people’s 17-year-long aspiration, the interim government has decided to hold the national election in February 2026. However, a certain group is conspiring to derail the election under the pretext of the ‘PR system.’ In the interest of the nation, this evil force must be resisted with unity.”
She urged party leaders and activists, saying,
“Ensuring the victory of the sheaf of paddy is now a national responsibility. Everyone—men and women alike—must be politically active.”
At the event, she prayed for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the good health and long life of Deshnayak Tarique Rahman, and sought everyone’s prayers for the welfare of the nation.
Earlier, Rita held meetings with freedom fighters in Sadar, Saturia, and municipal areas. Later, she joined mass communication programs, leaflet distribution, and campaign meetings as the chief guest at Bhagabanpur Bazar, Atigram New Bazar, Koshavanga Three-Road Junction, Rajnagar Government Primary School premises, Jagir Dighulia Bazar, Farirchar Dakhil Madrasa, and Madhabpur Bazar field, continuing her outreach until late at night.
Rita concluded by saying,
“For the sake of the nation, the sheaf of paddy—the symbol of independence, democracy, and development—must be made victorious. The BNP does not tolerate any form of conspiracy or evil force. To uphold peace and discipline in the country, everyone must remain united and active in the field.”
