Kamrul Hasan : Afroza Khanam Rita, Adviser to the Chairperson of the BNP and a candidate for the Manikganj-3 parliamentary constituency, exchanged views with the newly elected committee of the Television Reporters Unity (TRU), an organization of satellite television journalists in Manikganj.
The discussion meeting was held on Saturday evening at Munno City in Gilondo.
The session was conducted by TRU’s General Secretary Ashraful Alam Liton, while TRU President B.M. Khorshed, members of the advisory council, and executive committee leaders also spoke on the occasion.
In her address, Afroza Khanam Rita said, “Journalists are the conscience of society. It is because of your commitment to truth that people know what is happening, where the problems lie, and where improvement is needed. Responsible journalism can be a powerful tool for social change. I have always stood for the professional freedom and safety of journalists.”
She further stated, “In the upcoming national election, my aim is to work for the welfare of the people. For that, I seek the cooperation and constructive advice of all media professionals. Bringing sustainable improvement in education, healthcare, and employment for the people of Manikganj is my goal. I firmly believe that your positive role will make this journey more dynamic.”
Afroza Khanam Rita congratulated all members of the newly elected TRU committee and wished continued success for the organization.
The event was attended by members of the advisory council, executive leaders, and journalists from various television channels.
