Illegal occupants to be evicted without notice: Atiq

Online Desk : Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam today said that no valid notice would be issued in the name of illegal occupants, they will be evicted without notice.

"No notice need to be issued for illegal occupants, they can be evicted at any time," he said.

Atiq said this while evicting illegal structures at Lautola canal at Mohammadpur Basila in the capital, said a release.

He said that the length and width of the canal, which is supposed to be there, has nothing in reality for illegal occupation.

"The canal would be rescued and connected with the river Buriganga soon," he said.

The mayor said that those who have already illegally occupied the canal and built various structures will have to leave as soon as possible.

He said everyone should be vocal against illegal occupants and the canals must be rescued at any cost to free the city from waterlogging.

At this time, among others, the chief executive officer of the DNCC Selim Reza, Chief Engineer Brigadier General Muhammad Amirul Islam, Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore SM Sharif-ul Islam, Chief Property Officer Mohammad Mozammel Haque and Local Councilor Asif Ahmed were present.
