Online Report : Five people were killed and four other were injured in separate road accidents in Dinajpur, Gazipur and Manilganj on Friday morning.
In Dinajpur: A truck driver and his helper were killed after maize-laden truck and fertilizer-laden truck collided head-on near the TNT intersection of Ghoraghat upazila of the district at around 6am on Friday.
The deceased were driver of the maize-laden truck Golam Rabbi, 38, and his helper Rezwan Hosen, 32.
Officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station Asaduzzaman said being informed police visited the spot. Legal action will be taken.
In Manikganj: Two vegetable vendors Abdus Slam, 50, and Chanawer Hosen, 45, were killed when a covered-van ran over them on Dhaka-Aricha Highway near Golra Bus stand in Saturia upazila of the district at around 7am.
The victims were the residents of Katigram area of Manikganj Sadar upazila.
OC of Golra Highway police station Sukhendu Basu said the victims after collecting the vegetables from Gagir market in the morning were going to their area for selling those.
An unidentified covered-van knocked them down in the highway. The bodies are now under their custody.
In Gazipur: A man was killed and four others were injured after a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit a covered van which was parked on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Konabari area of the district early Friday.
The victim Saimun Islam, 37, was the son of Shamsul Alam of Kanuhari area of Mohanganj thana of Netrokona.
Sub-Inspector of Konabari police station under Gazipur Metropolitan Sohag Chawdhury said the Kaliakoir-bound auto-rickshaw from Chandina hit the covered van, leaving the one dead on the spot and four other passengers injured.
The injured were taken to local hospital but their identities could not be known immediately, he added.
