Five killed as bus rams auto-rickshaw

Online Desk : Five people, including a woman, were killed and at least 10 others injured as a bus rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sherpur upazila of Bogura on Wednesday afternoon.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Sherpur Fire Service and Civil Defence official Nader Hossain said a bus of `Hanif Paribahan` rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Mirzapur Ambagan area on the Dhaka-Bogura highway around 5 pm, leaving five passengers of the latter vehicle dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

The injured were rushed to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, and Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, he added.

Sherpur Highway Police Camp in-charge Baniul Anam said they seized the bus but its driver and his assistant managed to flee.
