Jhalakathi road accident: Families of deceased to get Tk 5 lakh

The government will provide Tk 5 lakh as financial assistance to the family members of those who died in a road accident in Jhalakathi while Tk 3 lakh to disabled victims.

Besides, each of the injured people will be given Tk 1 lakh.

Jhalakathi Deputy Commissioner Farah Gul Nijhum on Wednesday afternoon confirmed the matter to the reporters.

On Wednesday afternoon, 14 people were killed and 20 others injured when a speedy truck hit several vehicles at Gabkhan Bridge Toll Plaza area in Sadar upazila of Jhalakathi.
