Bangladesh records 13 new dengue cases in 24-hour

Hospitals in Bangladesh have recorded 13 new cases of dengue fever in 24 hours till 8 am today (April 19), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of them, nine were admitted to several hospitals in Dhaka, while the rest were outside the capital, the DGHS statement added.

However, no fresh death due to dengue was reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

So far, 1,952 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.

Last year, a total of 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.

The DGHS recorded 321,179 dengue cases and 3, 18,749 recoveries last year.
