I want to be known as Nahid Rana of Bangladesh: Nahid Rana
  Date : 19-09-2024

Bangladesh`s rising star pacer Nahid Rana, who made headlines with his express pace during the recent Pakistan series, has made it clear that he wants to carve his own identity in world cricket.

The 21-year-old speedster clocked an impressive 152 kmph in the second Test against Pakistan, becoming the fastest bowler on either side.

"I don`t want to be like anyone else, I am Nahid Rana. I want to be known as Nahid Rana from Bangladesh," said the young pacer in a video shared by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Rana, who grew up admiring Bangladeshi pacers, emphasized that he isn`t trying to emulate anyone but is focused on being the best version of himself.

Rana grabbed attention not only with his six wickets in two Tests but also by unsettling Pakistan`s batters with his raw pace and extra bounce, especially during a devastating spell in the second Test. His career-best 4-44 highlighted his potential as a game-changing bowler.

Currently preparing for Bangladesh`s tour of India, Rana stated that he focuses on executing the team`s plans rather than chasing higher speeds. "Rhythm is key. When you are in good rhythm, bowling faster comes naturally," he explained.
