  Date : 19-09-2024

Bangladesh has encountered a devastating flood recently. As a social responsibility, various groups and organizations - national and international - are helping the flood-affected people by providing basic supplies including common medicine, rice, pulses, and similar things without any payment. One of the most significant and essential services is the free medical camp, which provides costless primary diagnosis and medicine to afflicted people. As the continuum of these services, Humanity Matters a Singapore-based NGO has arranged a “Free Medical Camp” at the North Boroia Government Primary School, Fulgazi, Feni, Bangladesh on 14th September 2024. It was a day-long program that continued from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. An official of Humanity Matters, Mr. Abul Kalam Azad, was present in the program. Moreover, Mahbub Alam Shahin, chatradal president of Dr. Mohammad Shahidullah Hall of the University of Dhaka, and Md. Ariful Islam, joint secretary of the private university chatradal, was present in the camp as a volunteer. However, the program has been managed and run by Mehedi Hasan Manik, an official of ACI Pharma and assistant education secretary of the International Human Rights Journalist Society.
Four specialist Doctors - Dr. Md. Abul Hasem Mojumder Raihan, medical officer at Feni Diabetic Hospital, Dr. Sharmin Jahan Brithi, medical officer at Feni Diabetic Hospital, Dr. Md. Futfor Rahman, practitioner at Shamim Medicine Corner, Fulgazi, and Dr. Shiblu Sharma, practitioner at FT 250 bed modern Feni Sadar hospital - have served around 600 patients under camp. Common medicines including Sodium Chloride+Potassium Chloride+Trisodium Citrate, Monosulfiram, Levosalbutamol, Ascorbic Acid, Zinc Sulfate, Azithromycin, Cetirizine, and Paracetamol have been provided to patients without any cost. One may contact “hasan.manik.du@gmail.com” or "phmanik@aci-bd.com" to arrange any future medical or similar type of camp in Bangladesh.
