Bangladesh have been bowled out for a measly 106 in their first innings of the opening Test match against South Africa in Mirpur.
In reply, the visitors lost skipper Aiden Markram in the first over after he was castled by seamer Hasan Mahmud.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first on Monday, the Tigers failed to muster up the mettle to contain the early onslaught by the South African bowlers.
The top order wilted against the pace of Wiaan Mulder (3-22), who was ably supported by fellow seamer Kagiso Rabada (3-26) and spinner Keshav Maharaj (3-34) as the Proteas attack left Bangladesh squarely on the back foot.
Rabada notably became the fastest bowler to take 300 Test wickets in terms of the number of deliveries.
Among the Bangladesh batsmen, only opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy managed to put up a semblance of resistance, making 30 off 97 balls.
The highest partnership was the ninth-wicket stand of 26 runs between Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan. No other partnership exceeded 30 runs.
For Bangladesh, this was the sixth time in their last seven home innings that they have failed to reach 200 runs. They also matched their lowest score when choosing to bat first.
Only once have the Tigers been bowled out for a lower score at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium -- 87 runs against Pakistan in 2021.
