Online Desk : Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested he may be leaving Al Nassr after posting a cryptic message on social media just hours after the Saudi Pro League season concluded.
"This chapter is over," the 40-year-old Portuguese star wrote alongside a photo of himself in an Al Nassr shirt, adding, "The story? Still being written. Grateful to all."
Ronaldo joined the Saudi club in 2022 from Manchester United and his contract is set to expire this summer.
Though Al Nassr are not among the 32 clubs participating in the FIFA Club World Cup this year, a special transfer window from June 1–10 will allow those competing to sign players.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino recently hinted that Ronaldo could still feature in the expanded Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 14. "There are discussions with some clubs," Infantino said in an interview.
Al Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League and were knocked out in the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League by Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale. Despite the team’s struggles, Ronaldo ended the league campaign as top scorer with 24 goals.
Last year, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said he could retire at Al Nassr, but his latest comments suggest a possible move—perhaps tied to the Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, long-time rival Lionel Messi is confirmed to play in the tournament with Inter Miami.
