Robbery at addl DIG`s house in Gazipur

Online Report : Robbers looted gold ornaments of 10 bhories and some cash money during robbery at the house of a police`s additional DIG in Gazipur`s Kaliakoir early Saturday.

Additional DIG Abida Sultana`s father Nazmul Alam said he and his wife were present at the house at Thengerband during the robbery occurred.

A group of 10-12 robbers broke a window grill of the house and entered inside. At one stage, some of them entered breaking the main door open and kept the hostages at gun point. The gang then looted 10 bhories of gold items and Tk 2 lakh cash money.

When the robbers left the place, the house inmates started hue and cry. Then neighbour rushed in and informed the matter to police.

Police visited the scene and investigating is underway, said Kaliakoir Police Station OC Riad Mahmud.
