New missions to be established in 5 countries: Asif

(BSS) - Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has said the government has taken an initiative to set up new diplomatic missions in five nations aiming to involve Bangladeshi expatriates in the country`s development process.

"These missions will be established in Dublin of Ireland, Oslo of Norway, Buenos Aires of Argentina, Frankfurt of Germany, and Sao Paulo of Brazil," he said in a post on his verified Facebook account.

In the context of the changing geopolitical environment, international economic reality and transition from LDC, the adviser said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken the step to establish new missions in five countries to strengthen political ties with Europe and South America, expand trade and involve Bangladeshi expatriates in the development process.
