An array of native fruits featured at CRAB`s fruit festival
  Date : 26-06-2025

Staff Correspondent: The Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) organised its annual fruit festival at its auditorium in the capital Dhaka on Thursday.

CRAB President Mirza Mehedi Tamal presided over the event.  National Press Club president and poet Hasan Hafiz attended as the chief guest, while Fasih Ullah Khan, Press Counselor of the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh , joined as the special guest.

CRAB General Secretary M. M. Badsha delivered the welcome speech.

Senior leaders and members from the National Press Club, Dhaka Reporters Unity, and CRAB were also present at the event. The colorful assortment of native fruits drew admiration from the guests.

In his remarks, Hasan Hafiz said, “Crime reporters are not limited to reporting crimes only — their contributions to national celebrations are equally significant. Today`s festival of native fruits will help promote our local culture on an international platform.”

He expressed his appreciation to CRAB for organizing the event.

Expressing his interest in jointly organising such events in the future, diplomat Fasih Ullah Khan remarked that showcasing the rich variety of fruit delicacies from Pakistan and Bangladesh would not only promote traditional produce but also strengthen cultural linkages between the two countries. He mentioned that earlier this year, a fresh fruit delegation from Pakistan visited Bangladesh to explore opportunities in the local market. He also appreciated the taste, quality, and texture of the diverse local fruits at the festival.

CRAB President Mirza Mehedi Tamal emphasized that the festival was an effort to offer crime reporters a refreshing break, allowing them to enjoy seasonal fruits together amidst their hectic professional lives.

CRAB General Secretary M. M. Badsha said the event had become a joyful reunion for CRAB members.

CRAB Vice President Umar Faruq Al Hadi, Joint Secretary Niaz Ahmed Labu, Publicity and Publication Secretary Nihal Hasnain, Sports and Cultural Secretary Rakibul Islam Manik, Law and Welfare Secretary Mahmudul Hasan, International Affairs Secretary Habibullah Mizan, Executive Member Imran Rahman, and several former CRAB leaders were also present at the colourful function.

CRAB leaders expressed gratitude to the event`s sponsors — crime based online television AllCrimes.TV and the daily newspaper Amar Barta for their support.
