We aim for fair DUCSU polls: Farhad
  Date : 03-09-2025

SM Farhad, General Secretary (GS) candidate of Islami Chhatra Shibir-supported ‘Oikkoboddo Shikkhathi Jote’ panel, expressed disappointment over the approach of other student organisations ahead of the upcoming DUCSU elections.

He made these remarks at Wednesday`s press briefing before Dhaka University`s Modhur Canteen.

“We are frustrated. Student organisations should have reached out to students to understand their demands. Instead, they are shifting responsibilities onto each other. Political mistakes can always be critiqued, but due to decline of Awami politics on campus, students no longer feel intimidated,” Farhad said.

He added that his panel is committed to door-to-door campaigning within dormitories and has already received positive responses from residential students. “We have also gathered feedback and complaints from Chhatra Dal and leftist organisations, which are important for us to know,” he noted.

Farhad concluded by appealing to all student organisations to work together to ensure a fair and transparent DUCSU election.
